MEMORIALS

MEMORIAL TO THE UNBORN CHILD

The Memorial to the Unborn is usually constructed in or around the cemetery of the Church.  The presence of the structure seeks to sensitize people to the prevalent anti- life culture of abortion. It also evokes one to pray for the souls of the mute, innocent defenceless babies.

The first memorial was constructed in St. Andrew church cemetery, Bandra and was blessed by Cardinal Ivan Dias in the year 2000, on the occasion of the 7th Asia Pacific Congress.

Other memorials were constructed subsequently in the following parishes:

2003 -  Chembur – Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church

2003 -  Dadar – Our Lady of Salvation Church

2004 - Andheri – Sacred Heart Church

2004 - Mahim – St. Michael Church

2006 - Mankhurd – St. Anthony Church

2006 - Santa Cruz – Sacred Heart Church

2006 - Uttan – Our Lady of Egypt Church

2008 - St. Peter's Church, Bandra

Prayer services and rosaries are conducted at the Memorial to the Unborn on Prolife Day and other events.
